Young Writers Competition

As part of Bike Week 2004, Wandsworth Council organised a Young Writers Competition for 11-18 year olds. The entrants could choose between recounting their favourite bike ride and writing a discussion on whether cycling to school should be encouraged.

The discussions considered the pros and cons of cycling, including issues such as safety, security, the weather, independence, fitness and the environment. Those who chose to write about their favourite bike ride expressed the fun, the challenges and the freedom that they experience.
